Thanks to both you and Chris for your efforts.  I have learned a tremendous amount from your articles and books. Most importantly, I learned how much I didn't know which was the first step in true education.

I must admit that when I first came across your site, about 2 years ago, I had a pretty negative initial reaction.  The things you were saying were in conflict with much of what I "knew" from experience both in college and on the job.  But as I found myself struggling with some of the problems of which you spoke, I slowly began to realize the applicability of what you said.  Now, after years in the field as a "database expert" I consider myself very much a student again.

Good for you.

Only those who are secure enough to admit to themselves that they don’t know will learn.

If the system were requiring, encouraging, or rewarding this, many would. But it actually punishes it, so most don't. You are one of the lucky few.
