In a recent article, you assert:
"... (Oracle is, of course, a SQL DBMS, not a true RDBMS)"
Can you direct me to a source where I can learn the distinction between these
two database management systems? I haven't been exposed to the term "SQL
DBMS" before and am having a more difficult time digesting the concept.

Oracle is a SQL DBMS, or in other words, it is a DBMS based on the SQL data
language; a true RDBMS is a DBMS truly, fully and correctly based on the
relational data model; in the industry there is a common mistake that SQL-based
DBMS are RDBMSs: SQL is not a true, full and correct implementation of the
relational model; Most of the information on these distinctions can be found in
the books listed on the Books page of this web site.

Thank you... I was at the DBDEBUNK site as your response
arrived. There's a prodigious amount of material to learn.

Well, I don't think anybody can be a decent database
practitioner without some fundamental knowledge. With the proper amount of
knowledge you wouldn't have had to ask the question you asked. Lack of such
knowledge requires an education and the web site provides some of that
education. There are no shortcuts.
