I wrote this company a nice letter and explained that they really weren't looking for a Database Administrator - maybe a Marketing Administrator, a creative person— or something—anything but a DBA.

They just reposted.

People who don't know what they are selling -- selling to people who are clueless about what they are buying. That is the state of the industry.

Dear HR,

I do not think you are looking for a Database Developer. Perhaps you should re-run this as a "Media Relations", "Desktop Publishing" or "Graphic Arts and Media" person. - all with admin experience by the look of it.

A database developer would design a system that typically holds textual information about your company - (bill of materials, parts lists, inventory accounting etc.) -- although modern databases can hold graphical information - this is normally an organizational function - not a creative or editing function..

Now by the look of it you may want this person to work with a database designer - and eventually a developer to organize and store this on a computer function your primary need seems to be for someone with commercial art and marketing material design experience.

Hope this helps. :-)

If you need any further clarification feel free to call me.

Ed. Comment: None necessary.
