Regarding your quote of the week:
One of the remarkable extensions of the Oracle database is the
ability to reference Oracle objects directly by using pointers as opposed to
relational table joins.
--Donald Burleson, Using Oracle Nested Tables, Praetoriate
Oracle Support
(emphasis mine), cf. Arthur M. Schlesinger's quote:
A large praetorian bureaucracy, filled with ambitious,
possessive ... and often sycophantic people, makes work and makes trouble”
I felt compelled to price this advice from the seller's
perspective:
Oracle Certified Consultant Prices ... You get what you Pay
For...
--dba-oracle.com
So at Burleson's $500/hour, and 13.42s to read the advice
[http://javascript.internet.com/calculators/double-stopwatch.html], I should
value this advice at:
( 500.00 / ( 60 * 60 ) ) * 13.42 = $1.74
Good thing I didn't pay for it! Other than some lawyers, what
other service “professional” charges $500/hour?
