I stumbled over two articles from ”ChiMu Publications”,
namely Tuple-Marks: NULLs everyone can live with and Foundations of Object-Relational
Mapping. They are both quite old
(1997), and I would assume that you have seen/read them, and possibly debunked
them.
After a first reading, it seems to me that the author(s) are
not completely ignorant. Do you have an opinion on the articles you would share
to make a critical reading, well, more critical?

We have come to the conclusion that many-valued logics and
NULLs are not the correct solution for relational databases, regardless of any
details. We do not consider sources on that topic a fruitful use of our time.
We believe we provided the correct solution in our PRACTICAL DATABASE FOUNDATIONS paper
#8, The Final NULL
in the Coffin. Several reactions to it and our replies are in the queue
for posting and they will further clarify and reinforce our position.
Ed. Note: We hold the same opinion on anything having to do
with objects in database management (as distinct from application
development and programming).
